Perfection vs. Accuracy (日英併記)

I recently noticed that the people around me — the ones I thought were doing everything perfectly — make mistakes too.
Mine are more frequent, but still.

I never claimed to want perfection.
But I always imagined a perfect finish.

That image of perfection made me blame myself for falling short,
and kept pushing me to be perfect.

Yet doing things perfectly was rarely possible.

Chasing perfection makes my body tense.
That tension leads to mistakes.
I’d lose confidence in what I was doing
and find myself checking things more than necessary.

So I decided to try something different.

Build accuracy, one step at a time.
That might reduce mistakes more than chasing perfection ever could.

Rather than aiming for perfect,
I accumulate moments of being accurate.

This might be one form of the form —
a pattern for becoming more precise.

Thank you for reading.
