The Shirt That Shrunk
The season for my cotton overshirt has arrived — that brief window in early autumn when it’s just right.
A few days ago I got it out and ready.
This morning, I put it on.
Hm?
The hem. Too short.
The sleeves. Too short.
In the mirror — I looked exactly like a schoolteacher about to lead a hiking trip.
A perfect fit. In the worst possible way.
Wait. Something’s wrong here.
I couldn’t help but call it out.
Seven months since I quit smoking.
Nearly 10 kilos gained.
Okay. That’s enough.
Time to stop letting appetite run wild.
Thank you for reading.
