One Step at a Time, Placed on the Ground
Lately, I’ve been working on changing the way I walk — and I’ve come to like it.
It’s awkward. Slow. But I feel something here.
Before, I used to grip the ground and push forward — cutting through the air, moving fast.
When my feet started giving me trouble, I began trying something different.
Placing each foot down carefully. Moving forward, step by step.
It’s slow. Clumsy. Nothing like before.
But when I bring my attention to each step, I noticed something: my mind begins to settle.
Losing the old way of walking — even temporarily — led me to this.
One step, placed gently on the ground.
It gives me a sense of ease. A sense of being here.
Maybe I’ve found another way back.
Thank you for reading.
